Four Findings: Everton 1-1 Liverpool

Goodison Park hosted the 225th Merseyside derby where Liverpool, yet again, scored first only to falter and draw with city rivals Everton 1-1.

In a match that lived up to the expected intensity, complete with full blooded challenges and minor skirmishes, the quality on display was markedly missing.

While now former manager Brendan Rodgers had not lost an away derby since taking the helm, he could not win one either. By the end of this one, Liverpool had to hold off the Toffees, who grew stronger in the second half, pouring on the pressure in the final minutes.

Having conceded just before the half-time whistle, the Reds spent most of the second half fading. In truth, this was two unremarkable sides tied up and unable to capitalize on the other.

Here are four findings from the match.
