Four Findings: West Ham 2-1 Liverpool

In an eerie moment of deja vu, Liverpool capitulated via another late goal from a set piece, only this time to be bombed out of the FA Cup.

West Ham’s Dimitri Payet delivered a deep, whipped free-kick right onto the head of Angelo Ogbonna who finished the Reds off after 120 minutes for a 2-1 victory at Upton Park.

It was the Hammers’ third win over the Reds this season and it was the cruelest. A predominantly young side was not intimidated and played well but it proved not enough.

Again, Liverpool dominated possession, failed to take their chances, and were summarily punished for their profligacy.

Here are four findings from the match.
