Adam expects Gerrard to play for Liverpool again

This Sunday will not be the last time Steven Gerrard pulls on the famous red jersey of Liverpool, believes former Liverpool player Charlie Adam.

Speaking before the final game of the season, Adam believes that Steven Gerrard will come back to the Premier League during of MLS off-season as “the type of person he is, he will want to play games over the Christmas period. [And] Give anyone an opportunity to sign Steven Gerrard in the Christmas window and they would snap your hand off

Gerrard has previously stated it would be difficult for him to play against his hometown club, and these quotes from Adam could only serve to raise expectations for a homecoming for Gerrard further, after revealing earlier in the week that he will train with Liverpool during the MLS off-season.

With the final game of Steven Gerrard’s 709 game Liverpool career drawing closer, Adam is another in a long-line of world footballers to wax lyrical about the talents of the Huyton born midfielder. “He is a terrific player and always has been. Steven has been one of the best midfielders in this Premier League. He will be a loss to the Premier League

Continuing to heap praise on Gerrard, Adam said that he knows full-well that the Liverpool midfielder will want to add to his already impressive trophy collection when he crosses the Atlantic to LA.

I was only with him for a year but in that time I saw what a winner he is. I know he will want to go there and be the best player and win trophies for the Galaxy. He has the right quality and hopefully he can achieve that.

Writer of words and lover of football.
