Andoni Iraola’s latest claim about transfers will be music to the ears of Liverpool fans

Liverpool remain in the market for reinforcements between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

The Reds have agreed a deal to sign Bradley Barcola, but are expected to sign 1-2 more players if opportunities arise.

Talks remain ongoing for a bunch of players across the continent as they scramble to get deals over the line before the window slams shut.

And now, Andoni Iraola has confirmed that work is happening behind the scenes to get deals over the line.

“I think we’re working straight away and improving in terms of the market and the team, but everything is not going to be done straight away in this market,” said Iraola via TNT Sports.

“I am confident because I value the players I already have a lot. There are high-quality players that we can work with, and now it’s a matter of how we can use them in the best positions, in the spots where they can make the difference.

“I go to training every day and I see things that are very expansive, and now it’s a matter of how we can use those things effectively, so we can be a very good team.

“I hope we are close, in terms that we only have four or five days remaining in the market.

“So we’ve been patient until now, and I think we have to be a little bit more patient, but it’s true that there are a lot of things going on, and I hope we can announce things quickly, because this is an area that has been really our priority, especially since Mo left last season.

“Everyone knows that we have a big hole to fill, and I think it has been the main focus, I would say, in this market, yes.”
