Wednesday night saw the start of England’s preparation ahead of Euro 2020 with a friendly against Austria.
Gareth Southgate had announced his squad for the tournament the day before, with some young stars included.
One of those youngsters that made the final 26 was Borussia Dortmund’s star midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The 17-year-old joined the German club almost a year ago after just one full season in Birmingham City’s first-team.
Dortmund paid just over £20million for the young Englishman and it looks to be a great investment.
Bellingham made his first-ever England start on Wednesday against Austria, and he was quick to thank one individual for their role.
Following the final whistle, Bellingham thanked Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson for presenting him the No.8 shirt…
During the interview, Bellingham pointed out how important Henderson has been for England and himself.
Liverpool have found themselves liked with a move for Bellingham over the last few days due to many factors.
Firstly, the youngster quote-tweeted a compilation video from more than a year ago of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Bellingham tweeted to ‘mind-blown’ emojis in response to the incredible video of the Reds legend.
Finally, this recognition of Henderson’s role in his England start has got fans talking as well as the media.
The youngsters stock has grown astronomically in the last year, rising to £49.5million according to Transfermarkt.
There is no doubt Bellingham would be a great addition for Liverpool, especially as a Gini Wijnaldum replacement.
