FSG president Mike Gordon has plane scare at John Lennon Airport

Liverpool managing owner Mike Gordon had a scare when his private jet skidded off the runway at John Lennon Airport, according to the Mirror.

The incident happened on Wednesday morning, having flown into Liverpool for a number of meetings.

It is believed that the plane overshot the runway at 6am (GMT), with emergency services called to the scene.

Gordon and his three crew members avoided injury, however, and he “simply carried on with his schedule for the day.”

The incident forced the airport to be closed, meaning Reds supporters travelling back from the win over Salzburg faced disruptions to their journey home.

Gordon is FSG’s second largest shareholder with approximately 12 percent, behind only John W Henry (40%).

He runs Liverpool on a daily basis, along with CEO Peter Moore, and is thought of highly at the club.

Thankfully, he has avoided serious injury, in what could have been a far more serious situation.
