Police have released four CCTV images of a man suspected of assaulting Liverpool goalkeeper Shamal George and his older brother.
The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, March 9th when the pair were out in Liverpool city centre.
George’s brother was attacked inside the Red Door bar on Berry Street, before the youngster suffered the same fate outside.
They both suffered cuts to their faces, with the injuries serious enough to require hospital treatment.
The suspect is described by Merseyside Police as “a white man, of stocky build wearing a white t-shirt, with a large tattoo on his right forearm.”
George took to Twitter to share the information on Wednesday afternoon and asked for anyone who witnessed what happened to assist the investigation, saying:
This is the man who assaulted me and my brother. If anyone knows anything please let me or the police know. Thank you.
George has been at Liverpool since 2009 and has risen through the club’s Academy.
He is currently on loan at Tranmere Rovers this season, making three appearances in total.
