Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy is being considered a doubt to face Liverpool at the weekend.
The Manchester Evening News reports that the club are unsure over whether or not Mendy will feature after being left out of the most recent France squad.
Mendy has been unable to shift a foot injury that he suffered in training and there are now concerns over the player’s fitness.
The news follows a reported row between the French defender and Pep Guardiola over his attitude off the pitch.
Liverpool have their own fitness concerns to contend with also, with Naby Keita suffering a peculiar injury against Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The meeting at Anfield on Sunday will be a clash of the two title favourites this season.
Sunday’s game will put first against second and both teams will be out to put down a marker at this early stage of the campaign.
