Real Madrid are interested in signing Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah according to the club’s former president Ramon Calderon in an interview with ON Time Sports as relayed by Goal.
Speculation over the 28-year-old’s future at Anfield has been rife following an interview the Egyptian gave Spanish publication AS whereby he hailed Real and Barcelona as the two clubs of interest to him.
However, the winger’s form has shown no sign of angling for a move away from Merseyside as Salah tops both the club’s goalscoring charts as well as the Premier League’s.
To add fuel to the fire, Calderon told ON Time Sports:
”(Mohamed) Salah is wanted, of course, by Real Madrid, but Liverpool would ask for a lot of money and, if that deal were to be completed, it would be crucial. Salah is a great player with fantastic potential, and any club wishes to acquire such talents, but for Real Madrid, I do not think they have the financial means to sign Salah.”
Calderon did also state he doesn’t believe Liverpool would let Salah go.

Speculation around Salah’s potential sale has been ruling on for some time now and although Liverpool should firmly rebuff any advances at this stage, even the biggest fan of the Egyptian King will admit one day soon the day may come.
Valued at £108m and under contract at Anfield until 2023, there is no urgent need to cash in on the goal-scoring phenomenon.
However, should the Reds be unable to agree to a new contract with Salah, the summer of 2022 may be a tipping point for his Liverpool career if the club holds out any hopes of landing a worthwhile fee.
