The Premier League season is underway and the club will be hoping to improve on last season’s antics.
Despite finishing in an impressive third place, the Reds struggled at periods throughout the campaign.
Last season saw a number of high-profile injuries to the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip.
This left the club with no senior centre-backs for a large period of last season, leading to new signings.
There is plenty of hope that this season will fare very differently for Jurgen Klopp and his squad.
The new addition of Ibrahima Konaté, as well as having a fully fit squad again, is very encouraging.
However, former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville feels differently about this season.
Speaking on the YouTube channel Webby & O’Neill, Neville made his claims over Liverpool this season.
At 24:04, Neville is asked about his thoughts on how Liverpool may fare in the Premier League this campaign.
Much to the host’s surprise, Neville gave a strange verdict, stating that he thinks something isn’t right at the club…
The Sky Sports pundit stated that this came after watching the club’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Saturday…
“It’s not bad, it’s not a massive big spirit issue or the manager has fallen out with players, nothing like that.
“But there’s something missing. I remember going three years ago thinking we’re in trouble and two years ago thinking we’re in serious trouble.
“You can just feel it, you can see when something is right – but it’s just not there.
“Unless they have bought Mbappe, and then we go ‘Oh my God, they’re challenging’, there’s something not quite right there.”

Whether Neville’s thoughts and feelings are accurate is yet to be justified.
The season is only three games in and Liverpool’s results have been positive so far.
With the international break in full swing, it will be imperative that the Reds carry on their fine form from the last three weeks.
