Liverpool are hopeful that Joe Gomez will return from injury in time for next month’s Premier League clash with Tottenham, report the Liverpool Echo.
The 21-year-old has been missing since breaking his leg at Burnley in December, having been one of the Reds’ best players until that point.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have rarely looked as solid at the back since losing him, so his return could be vital in the title run-in.
Liverpool host Spurs on March 31st, after the international break, which is when Gomez is being pencilled in for a return.
Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continues to step up his recovery after picking up a serious knee injury last April.
The much-missed midfielder is now playing a “greater role in training sessions” and will represent Liverpool’s U23s when he is ready for competitive action again.
Having both Gomez and Oxlade-Chamberlain available again will be a huge boost, not only for Liverpool but also for England manager Gareth Southgate.
