Jurgen Klopp has not ruled out the possibility of Liverpool doing more business before the 5pm transfer deadline on Thursday afternoon.
Having signed four players so far this summer in Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson, the squad still has a wealth of baggage that needs disposing of with Danny Ings in the headlines for a move away from the club.
Despite the four additions to the squad, could Liverpool look to complete another major signing for the start of the new campaign?
The Reds ended their pre-season last-night as Klopp’s new look Liverpool beat Italian side Torino 3-1, with all four of the German’s new signings featuring at Anfield in the victory.
Following the final whistle, after being asked about the Reds’ involvement on deadline day, Klopp said:
We will see what happens, we will see, don’t know […] I have no idea what will happen in the next 2 days.
Could this mean a last-ditch attempt to make Reds target Nabil Fekir a Liverpool player come Thursday night?
It has been clear to see that the World Cup winner has been a target all summer long and was close to signing in June, only for the deal to fall through, apparently due to pre-historic medical conditions concerning a knee ligament operation back in 2015.
It has now been reported that Chelsea are considering making a move for the French international. This may reignite interest from Klopp yet again as there is speculation that a deal could still be agreed for the Lyon captain.
With the window closing tomorrow tea time, it really does leave Liverpool and Klopp little time if any further deals are to go ahead.
