Keita to cost Liverpool £50million

Reports say Liverpool will have to pay over the odds to land midfielder Naby Keita, with RB Leipzig not willing to listen to offers under £50million.

According to The Times, Jurgen Klopp has made Keita, as well as Southampton’s Virgil Van Dijk, his top two transfer priorities this summer as he looks to strengthen his midfield and defensive options for the upcoming season.

The 22 year old Guinea international has been one of the Bundesliga’s shining stars this season, having scored eight goals and provided eight assists after arriving from Red Bull Salzburg last summer.

However Jurgen Klopp has a strong fight on his hand as he attempts to land Keita, with the Leipzig Chief Executive warning off potential buyers after the club qualified for Champions League football for the first time in their history.

Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff told The Times, “We have decided that we will not sell any player from our starting line-up. We will keep our team together and keep on developing.”
