Kevin Friend will take charge of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Fulham this weekend, it has been confirmed.
The Reds welcome the Cottagers to Anfield on Sunday afternoon, knowing they simply have to win, in order to remain in the top four race.
Thursday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea was another disastrous result and a big response is required.
Friend will be the referee for game, with Simon Hooper on VAR duty.

It’s fair to say that the majority of Premier League officials aren’t exactly universally popular figures and Friend’s recent record in charge of Liverpool games doesn’t bode well.
He oversaw the Reds’ insipid 1-0 loss at home to Brighton in early February – the last Reds game he refereed – and also the 1-1 draw with West Brom at Anfield just after Christmas.
Rather than worry about the referee, however, Liverpool have to just focus on getting a first win at home since December on Sunday, as their season threatens to completely fall apart.
There is too much feeling sorry for themselves at the moment, but they can’t let a potential bad decision or iffy VAR call derail them this weekend.
