Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp expects goalkeeper Loris Karius to improve as he adapts to the Premier League following a jittery start to his Liverpool career.
The 23-year old, ahead of the much-maligned Simon Mignolet in the pecking order, has made four appearances for the Reds since his summer move from Mainz, keeping two clean sheets.
The German’s displays, however, have been unconvincing, struggling to deal with crosses and very nearly gifting Manchester United a goal last time out after misdirecting a clearance into the path of Paul Pogba.
Speaking to the press ahead of Saturday’s game against West Brom, Klopp has shrugged off any concerns over his early form and is confident there is more to come from the youngster.

“It’s a very good start,” he insisted. “We watched him for a long time, and especially in the last two years in the Bundesliga he was outstanding.
“But he’s still a young boy, for a goalkeeper especially. He’s collected experience but this is something else in the Premier League, a different style of play.
“Of course he has to improve, he can improve. I feel quite comfortable, everything’s good.”
The Reds have had difficulties between the sticks for a number of years following the departure of Pepe Reina, and it is hoped that Karius, who cost only £4.7 million, will provide a long-term solution.
Should Karius’ early struggles continue, it could pave the way for a return to the starting XI for Mignolet, who has been forced to watch on from the sidelines in recent games. The intra-team competition, it is believed, will motivate both to up their game.
Karius could be set for another difficult afternoon against Tony Pulis’ West Brom at Anfield, a team notorious for their aerial threat, though the home side are expected to dominate.
