Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise onto a “transformed” Manchester United side ahead of the Reds visit to Old Trafford on Sunday, Sky Sports reports.
Liverpool beat Manchester United last December in Jose Mourinho’s last game in charge of the Red Devils with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over until the end of the season and Klopp believes that the Norwegian has done enough to earn the job on a permanent basis saying:
He deserves (the job) 100 percent, he did everything that you have to do to be successful with them.
He also praised record signing Paul Pogba, who the German says is now playing with confidence since the change in management.
Pogba had been involved in a very public dispute with former manager Mourinho over playing time with some pointing to that as the beginning of the end of Mourinho’s time at Manchester United.
However, since the change in regime, he has become a crucial part of the Red Devils tactics, with nine goals and six assists in the last two months.
Manchester United have won 11 out of their 13 games since Solskjaer took the reins and in his pre-match press conference Klopp said he is happy for Manchester United fans now that their team is climbing up the table stating:
It’s not the best news for us but for all Manchester United fans, it’s brilliant.
They’ve brought in all the things Sir Alex Ferguson stood for with all the new things in football.
That makes them a threat again. They are back on track. Good for them.
Liverpool will travel to Old Trafford on Sunday knowing that even a point would put them back at the top of the table with Manchester City playing against Chelsea in the League Cup final.
