Klopp to reassess transfer plans

Jurgen Klopp is to reassess his goalkeeping options after conceding defeat in the chase for Roma stopper Alisson, according to the Mirror.

Reports had been circulating in Brazil, Alisson’s home country, that Liverpool had made a £60million bid for the player, but it is in fact believed that no such bid has been made as the Reds believe that such a fee is far too high.

Roma are keen to keep a hold of Alisson, especially considering they sold Mo Salah to the Reds last summer for less than £40million.

The Serie A side have put a huge price tag of £70 million on Alisson’s head and the club are insistent that they won’t sell the keeper for less than their evaluation.

However Jurgen Klopp is said to be completely against paying such a high price for a goalkeeper and has told his board that he’s not prepared to meet Roma’s valuation.

Klopp is still desperate to sign a goalkeeper this summer with Simon Mignolet looking set to depart and Klopp wanting to demote Loris Karius after his Champions League final nightmare.

Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak had been another target for Liverpool but he is also likely to demand a high transfer fee, leaving Klopp needing to reassess the transfer market.
