Gazzetta dello Sport have this morning claimed that Liverpool had a bid worth £12.9 million rejected for midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
The Inter Milan player was the subject of a lower bid last month, which was also rejected.
Arsenal are also interested in Kovacic as they seek to bolster their midfield options.
Gazzetta dello Sport also claim that Inter may be interested in a deal involving Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva as the Italian club wait for a bid in excess of £18 million.
Kovacic is a dynamic 21-year-old who already has almost 20 appearances for Croatia.
