Leeds United join Rangers in Ryan Kent pursuit

Leeds United have joined Steven Gerrard’s Rangers in showing a keen interest in Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, according to the Daily Record.

The 22-year-old landed the PFA Scottish Young Player of the Year last season after an impressive loan spell at Ibrox, with Gerrard interested in bringing the wide man back to Scotland this summer.

However, according to the report, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is also keen on the player as he looks to bolster his wide options at Elland Road this summer.

The Reds would reportedly prefer to send the youngster out on loan again, so a move to the Whites in the Championship could be a realistic option following the success of Harry Wilson at Derby County.

The Championship is arguably a more competitive league than the Scottish Premiership, so if Kent can continue his consistent displays in England’s second tier next year, it would more than likely increase his current £12m valuation.

Newly promoted Aston Villa are also keen on the youngster, however, Dean Smith’s side would more than likely want to sign the player on a permanent basis due to the Premier League restricting sides to just two loans between clubs in the same division.
