Liverpool Agree Fee for Firmino

Liverpool have agreed a fee in principle with Hoffenheim for the purchase of Roberto Firmino, according to the Liverpool Echo. Personal terms have also been agreed with the player but he will require a work permit before the deal can be concluded.

The Brazilian moved to Hoffenheim from Figueirense FC towards the end of 2010. After making his debut in February 2011, he slowly established himself as a key player in the team contributing with a number of goals and assists.  In the 2012/13 season, he scored five goals in 29 Bundesliga appearances.

The following season, his goal tally increased as he netted 16 times in 33 league appearances and supplied 11 assists.

Last season, Firmino scored seven goals in the Bundesliga. He has also made himself a regular in the Brazil team and is currently representing them in the Copa America, where Liverpool reportedly have a number of officials present.

He will join Brazilian midfielders Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool.
