Liverpool spent much of last month scouting players throughout the Euro 2020 tournament.
It had initially been reported that the Reds were keeping tabs on three youngster in specific.
The Liverpool Echo reported these as Ukraine’s Ilya Zabarnyi, Netherlands’ Teun Koopmeiners, and Belgium’s Jeremy Doku.
However, it appears the latter has found himself linked further throughout the tournament.
According to Belgium sports news outlet Lesoir Sports, Liverpool now have the interest of other top European clubs to contend with…
The news, as cited by Anfield Effect on Twitter, indicate that Dokuis also receiving interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Doku impressed hugely during the tournament over the last month, but it seems as though he isn’t looking for a transfer.
The 19-year-old joined Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais last summer from RSC Anderlecht after interest from Liverpool.
He opted to turn down the Reds’ advances in favour of regular first-team football in France.
Now, he is still of the same mindset, with him wanting to establish himself at Rennes next season.
These are smart decisions for a player so young and clearly show why Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are big fans.
Doku currently has a market value of just under £20million according to Transfermarkt, which is sure to rise.
Despite the interest and competition from Real and Bayern, there is no doubt Liverpool will keep their interest firm.
