Liverpool confirm Anfield Road extension set to be complete by 2023/24

Liverpool have confirmed plans to extend the Anfield Road stand by 7,000 before the 2023/24 season.

The expansion will take the overall capacity of Anfield to 61,000 after receiving the go-ahead from the City Council to begin work.

Included in the extension will be an entry large enough to set up for concerts and other performances in the L4 stadium.

The welcome news appeared on the club’s official website and Twitter as Kopites revelled in the ever-expanding spiritual home.

This latest development comes following a new purpose-built state of the art training centre as well as the new Main Stand.

Work will begin before the end of the month and when complete will boast ‘improved concourses and sports bar lounge hospitality facilities’ for supporters.

In a similar vein to the new Main Stand, work will commence alongside the current Reds’ home fixture list.

This can only be positive news for the club and supporters alike.

Bringing in new revenue streams puts Liverpool on a stronger footing, whilst the additional capacity allows more Kopites to attend games and generate unrivalled atmospheres.

Albeit not the big-name summer signing many might’ve hoped for, even the most ardent owner defector would admit the work done on the infrastructure in recent years has been healthy.
