Liverpool are in discussions to host a pre-season friendly at Tottenham’s new stadium, report the Times.
It is a potentially controversial decision, considering the Reds have no affiliation with the ground.
Other venues are reportedly under consideration, with the friendly due to take place on July 28th, with Napoli the opponents.
Anfield will be unavailable on that date due to concerts performed by Take That, Bon Jovi and Pink in June, after which “the playing surface will be relaid in preparation for next season.”
It is a seemingly something that appeals to Spurs, helping them pay off the £850m spent on their hugely impressive new home.
The aptly-named Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will also host NFL games in the future, and has a designated pitch for it underneath the club surface used for football.
Liverpool and Spurs could now easily meet each other in the Champions League final on June 1, with the Premier League pair facing Barcelona and Ajax in the semi-finals, respectively.
