Liverpool signed Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz in the summer to bolster their ranks up front.
However, it is well documented that they wanted another winger as they monitored a handful of players when it looked like Cody Gakpo would leave.
The Dutchman ended up staying and has been one of Liverpool’s best players this season.
When he was in talks to join Manchester City, however, Liverpool made a move for Ismaila Sarr, although Crystal Palace refused to sell him.
And now, if reports are to be believed, Manchester United want to sign him during the January transfer window.
Liverpool target Ismaila Sarr wanted by Manchester United
According to 4-4-2, Manchester United want to sign the Senegalese forward, who is valued at around €65m.
Sarr wanted to join Liverpool in the summer and was disappointed when Palace didn’t sanction the move.
And now, with Manchester United also in the running, it remains likely that he will move on, especially with the Eagles struggling under Pierre Sage.
Liverpool really wanted him in the summer, but judging by how they have moved on, that ship may have sailed.
And in any case, the Reds are better off signing a left-footed attacker to add more variety to their forward options, with Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh another player they looked at signing before the summer transfer deadline.
