‘I’m sure’ – Journalist drops huge Liverpool transfer update

Gilberto Mora waves to Mexico supporters during the 2026 World Cup knockout win over Ecuador

Liverpool are expected to fine-tune their squad in the upcoming transfer windows under Andoni Iraola.

The Reds made four new signings in the summer and it goes without saying that each of them has already contributed positively at Anfield.

New sporting director Julian Ward will be working behind the scenes to draw up a list of candidates for January in case market opportunities arise.

In recent weeks, a lot has been said about Gilberto Mora, who has made a massive impression in Mexico.

And Lewis Steele confirms that the young midfielder is a player Liverpool will be keeping tabs on.

Liverpool’s interest in Gilberto Mora confirmed

After the UEFA Champions League clash against Villarreal, Iraola didn’t give much away when asked about Liverpool’s interest in Mora.

However, judging by his tone, it appeared as if the 18-year-old is a player they are keeping tabs on.

Steele, however, believes Mora is the kind of player who will be of great interest to the Liverpool hierarchy.

“I am sure Liverpool will be interested in Gilberto Mora,” said Steele via the Daily Mail.

“Liverpool’s global talent-spotting team, led by the likes of Matt Newberry and Pedro Marques, will be well aware of Mora so he is a name to keep an eye on.”

Liverpool could do well with another creative midfielder to provide cover and competition for Florian Wirtz.

And with some of the biggest clubs in the world chasing Mora’s signature, it would be wise to steal a march on them to get a deal done in January.
