A number of Liverpool fans cannot believe what talkSPORT presenter Adrian Durham has said about Thiago.
The 29-year-old made his first Reds start at Anfield on Sunday, as the Premier League champions played out a 0-0 draw with Manchester United.
Thiago started the game superbly, dictating the midfield battle and looking a class act, before his lack of match fitness started to show in the second half.
It has been a hugely frustrating start to life at Liverpool for the Spaniard, with injuries limiting him to just six appearances. He is a world-class footballer, though, and should be a key man moving forward.
Someone who actually believes Thiago is an issue, however, is Durham, who claimed on his talkSPORT show that he slows Liverpool down too much.
“He slows it down! They’ve gone from heavy metal to lift music, with Thiago.”
“Terrific career, talented football player, but he is totally wrong for Liverpool!” ❌

These Reds supporters have been left stunned by the presenter’s odd comments, taking to Twitter to explain how wrong he is on the matter.
This is by far the worst football take i've seen in a WHILE https://t.co/M3SMBizu0w

Clueless idiot. Nothing to do with the fact we are having to play 2 CMs at centre back and are therefore being a little more cautious to cover them. Or that those CMs are the ones that set the tempo. The idiot needs to rewatch the derby when Henderson/Fab/Thiago was so good

Haven’t been ‘heavy metal football’ since the Kyiv final 😂 https://t.co/RSemnTZqJC

“Thiago doesn’t do the track backing or grafting.”
Thiago last night against Manchester United:
3/3 tackles won
7 interceptions
16 ground duels https://t.co/uDVitLAnOx— lfcnxsir (@LFCNasi) January 18, 2021
Are you sure he doesn't do the hard graft or hard yards? These stats say otherwise…..
We needed him to complement our Midfield. All teams with two MID at CB is gonna struggle. Another story for views & listens though with no facts to back it up 👍👍👍 pic.twitter.com/LkuC0zmYKb
