Liverpool fans cannot believe David Coote is on VAR duty against Leicester

A number of Liverpool supporters are fuming that David Coote will be on VAR duty for the Reds’ clash with Leicester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s champions host the Foxes on Sunday evening, in what promises to be an intriguing Premier League meeting.

Leicester are top of the table after an impressive start, so they could be a tough proposition.

Not only that, but Brendan Rodgers will be keen to prove a point against his former employers, having been replaced by Klopp back in 2015.

Liverpool have a host of injury problems to contend with, but that might not be their only issue on Sunday.

It has been confirmed that Chris Kavanagh will referee the game, but more noticeable is the fact that Coote is the man in charge of VAR decisions.

He was infamously on duty for Liverpool’s controversial Merseyside derby clash with Everton last month, when the Reds were on the receiving end of a couple of dreadful decisions.

The decision not to send-off Jordan Pickford for his tackle on Virgil van Dijk, as well as ruling out Jordan Henderson’s seemingly onside winner, left fans fuming at the time.

Putting Coote in charge of another Liverpool game has not gone down well with these supporters on Twitter.
