Liverpool fans rage as Reds could play Leipzig home leg at neutral ground

A number of Liverpool fans are angry after it emerged that the Reds could have to play their home Champions League tie against RB Leipzig at a neutral venue.

Jurgen Klopp’s men return to European action next Tuesday as they take on Leipzig in Budapest in the first leg of their last 16 tie. That match is being played abroad because Liverpool can’t travel to Germany due to restrictions surrounding the global pandemic.

On Thursday, The Times‘ Paul Joyce claimed that the second leg on 10 March may have to take place away from Anfield, due to the German government confirming that the Bundesliga side would need to quarantine after returning from England.

It could act as a big blow for Liverpool, with the Premier League champions losing home advantage in a competition which now represents their best chance of silverware this season.

These Reds supporters took to Twitter to react to the news, with many voicing their frustration.
