Liverpool fans slaughter pundit after outrageous criticism of Jurgen Klopp

A number of Liverpool fans have laid into Tony Cascarino, following outrageous criticism of Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds reached the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night, following a 4-1 win away to Aston Villa.

The victory was fully expected, however, with the hosts forced into fielding a team of teenagers at Aston Villa.

Sadio Mane, Gini Wijnaldum and Mohamed Salah all found the net for Liverpool, with the Premier League champions set to find out their fourth round opponents on Monday evening.

Klopp has been criticised for supposedly disrespecting the FA Cup in the past, having played a number of weaker teams in the competition down the years.

The Liverpool manager can’t seem to win, however, with Cascarino now telling talkSPORT that the German should have also picked youngsters against Villa, in order to make it a level playing field:

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed Liverpool didnt go with an Under-23s team.

There will be many supporters around the country who would disagree with me on this, but I was wanting it to be on a level playing field.

I didn’t want Liverpool to have Champions League-winning players to go against a Villa team that was more like Under-18s, actually, than Under-23s.

I would have loved if Jurgen Klopp had gone, ‘you know what, just because we’re Liverpool and we respect what’s happened at Villa Park, we’ll go with Under-23s too’.

I wanted that to happen.

These Reds supporters have been reacting to the pundit’s outrageous remarks on Twitter.
