Alex Scott is a player who is well known to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola.
During the Spaniard’s last season at Bournemouth, Scott grew leaps and bounds as a player, attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world.
Liverpool’s interest in the England international is well documented, and with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2028, Bournemouth are in a precarious position.
And now, if sources close to the South Coast club are to be believed, the Cherries are open to a sale in January.
Liverpool target Alex Scott could be sold in January
The Bournemouth Echo confirm that Scott could be sold in January if a suitable offer arrives.
However, the Cherries won’t sell for cheap and will also want to ensure they are in a favourable position in the Premier League before parting with one of their prized assets.
An excerpt from the article reads: “Liverpool are in a favourable position to sign Alex Scott due to their existing relationship with Bournemouth and the midfielder, with Andoni Iraola now at Anfield.
“Bournemouth are open to a January sale, but any offer must exceed £100m and will only be considered if Premier League safety looks likely. Chelsea are also interested.”
Liverpool have spent big money on the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola over the past 14 months.
And now, if they want to stand a realistic chance of reuniting Scott with Iraola, they need to pay in excess of £100m again, which is quite simply an outrageous fee despite his talent and potential.
