Liverpool join race for FC Porto’s Moussa Marega

Liverpool are reportedly showing a keen interest in powerful FC Porto striker Moussa Marega.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, relayed in an article by Sport Witness, the Reds, along with West Ham and Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, are thought to be extremely keen on the Mali international.

The 28-year-old struck 21 times in 47 appearances last season for the Portuguese giants, six of which came in the Champions League.

The report goes on to add that a move to the Premier League looks extremely likely, with both Liverpool and West Ham ‘better equipped’ to sign the forward this summer.

The Reds are thought to be keen on bolstering their attacking options ahead of the new campaign, with boss Jurgen Klopp short of options off the bench to replace the clinical front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Porto value the forward at €30m, so Marega could prove to be a shrewd signing by the Reds if they can get the deal over the line ahead of the new season.
