Liverpool keeping tabs on League One duo

Liverpool are interested in Bury youngsters Jacob Bedeau and Callum Styles but face competition from Manchester City, Manchester United and Everton, according to reports.

Both Bedeau, 17, and Styles, 16, have broken into the first team in recent weeks and put in some impressive performances, catching the eye of the Premier League heavyweights

Centre back Bedeau has featured in the last six games for the side currently 20th in the third tier, while Styles has started the last three matches.

Styles claims to base his playing style on Brazilian legend Ronaldinho, and can play as a forward as well as midfielder.

Last season, he made the history as the first player born this millennium to make an appearance in the Football League, though Bury were later deducted three points when it was found that Englishman was not officially registered.

Nonetheless, Bury view the pair as two of the most exciting prospects to emerge from their youth ranks and are reportedly resigned to losing them in the near future.

Scouts from the four clubs watched Bedeau and Styles in Monday night’s 3-1 defeat at home to league leaders Sheffield United.

The Reds are evidently looking to bolster their youth ranks this month, having also taken Coventry youngster Cian Harries, 19, on trial.
