Liverpool monitoring Fiorentina striker Federico Chiesa

Liverpool are thought to be keen on landing Fiorentina striker Federico Chiesa this summer, according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, relayed by the Daily Express.

The report claims that the Reds have joined Juventus and Inter Milan in a battle to sign the highly-rated 21-year-old, who scored 12 times in all competitions last season.

The Reds have been linked with a move for Chiesa in the past, and it appears as if Jurgen Klopp has placed the striker on his shortlist once again this summer.

Liverpool look set to bring in a couple of additions to their squad ahead of the new campaign, with a high-profile forward set to arrive on Merseyside to bolster Klopp’s attacking options.

However, the report claims that a deal for Chiesa could be difficult for the Reds, with Fiorentina unwilling to sell the striker, who is contracted at the club until 2022.

If Liverpool can find a way to secure Chiesa’s services next season, it could prove to be a smart signing, with the dynamic forward regarded as a future star.
