The manner in which Liverpool handle their nerves could be key to their Premier League chances, according to Jamie Redknapp.
The Reds failed to capitalise on Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United on Tuesday, drawing 1-1 with Leicester City 24 hours later.
It was a glorious opportunity to go seven points clear of the champions but Jurgen Klopp’s side never got going at Anfield.
The second-half performance looked particularly nervy, almost as if the magnitude of the occasion got to the players.
Redknapp told Sky Sports that this is something Liverpool have to deal with between now and May, if they are to win a first league crown since 1990:
You can dress it up as a point gained on Manchester City but it felt like a miss.
At home, against Leicester, whose results have been up and down, it was a big opportunity to make the gap even bigger, but they will have to get used to it.

Nerves will play a big part, that’s inevitable. They haven’t won the league in so long.
I remember there were times when I was there and we got close and the feeling and anxiety goes next level.
The players and the fans want it so badly, but you have to control your emotions.
It was a tough one last night and they have to bounce back on Monday at West Ham. It did feel like two points dropped.
Klopp’s men head to West Ham on Monday night, which is set to be another stern test of their title credentials.
City will have played Arsenal at the Etihad by then, with Liverpool’s lead at the top expected to be cut to two points by the time kick-off arrives.
