Liverpool sources report that the club don’t intend on signing another attacker this summer

The Premier League season is at an end and the Reds failed to retain their Premier League title.

Despite a run of poor form and plenty of injuries, the club still managed an impressive top four finish.

This summer has already seen the signing of Ibrahima Konaté, and it was hoped the club would take things further.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano had reported that the club would likely make further signings this summer after Konaté.

However, the clubs feelings seem to have changed according to recent reports from the Liverpool Echo.

The newspaper is reporting that clubs sources have said that Liverpool have no plans to sign another attacker…

It seems strange for the news of a new striker to have drastically changed like that, especially with possible departures.

The likes of Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Harry Wilson have all been linked with moves away.

If the trio were to leave, it does seem strange that the club wouldn’t look to replace them this summer.

Liverpool failed to win a trophy last season after some silverware winning historics over the last few seasons prior.

If the club are genuine about wanting to fight for silverware once again, then quality in depth is a must.

Losing players from the bench and in the squad is bad enough, but not replacing them is even worse.

Time will tell as to whether the reports are true, but it would seem strange for the club not to replace any outgoing players.
