Liverpool relishing title battle, says Jordan Henderson

Jordan Henderson says Liverpool are enjoying being in the Premier League title race, with a constant desire to be the best.

The Reds find themselves level on points with Manchester City with a game in hand, following a memorable season to date.

That extra game takes place on Sunday afternoon, in arguably Liverpool’s most important match of the campaign so far.

Jurgen Klopp’s side make the tough trip to in-form rivals Manchester United, well aware of how significant a win would be.

Henderson has told Mirror that this Liverpool squad will never be happy with anything other than being winners, as they look to clinch their maiden trophy under Klopp:

There are no free swings when you play for Liverpool and nor should there be.

No-one here wants to be the underdog or the outsider – all of our team want expectation always because it means you’re performing at the highest level.

Sunday’s game has a pivotal feel to it, in terms of the Reds’ title hopes.

Granted, the eventual result at Old Trafford won’t decide anything, but it could either put a major dent or injection of confidence into Liverpool’s challenge.

They are looking for their first win at United since 2014.
