Liverpool target David Alaba reportedly favours move to England this summer

David Alaba could favour a move to the Premier League this summer, acting as a potential boost to Liverpool.

That’s according to Sport Bild [via Inside Futbol], who claim that the Austrian is far from certain to join Real Madrid, with whom he reportedly agreed a four-year deal last month.

Alaba will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and Liverpool have been considered among the front-runners to acquire his signature.

It is now claimed that a move to England could appeal to the 28-year-old, not only alerting the Reds, but also the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea [Sport Bild via Inside Futbol].

If Liverpool have genuine interest in Alaba, he could be a very shrewd addition to the squad this summer.

He has a wealth of experience at the top level, while his winning mentality is underlined by lifting nine Bundesliga titles and two Champions Leagues at Bayern.

Alaba can excel at centre-back, left-back and even in central midfield, making him a hugely versatile option for Jurgen Klopp.

He may not represent a long-term solution for the Reds, but similarly to Thiago, they should do all they can to get him if the opportunity arises, given his world-class abilities.
