- Liverpool is set to make another move for a Juventus star
- A cheap £9.5m move is being speculated
- Manchester United is also keen
Liverpool are targeting yet another Juventus star, ahead of a bumper summer transfer window, according to new reports.
The 2025/26 season is heading towards it’s conclusion now with lots of football still to be played in April and May, to decide where the Reds finish in the final Premier League standings.
Whatever position Liverpool do occupy come the end of the 38-game marathon, it does appear likely that Arne Slot’s men will be targeting several signings in the summer, with their Premier League title defence falling to the wayside rather depressingly.
Already, the reigning champions have been tipped to make moves for both Francisco Conceicao and Khephren Thuram from Juventus, with another star from the Serie A giants reportedly catching their eye.
Liverpool contemplate £9.5m move for Juventus ace
Italian outlet Gazzetto Dello Sport are speculating that Slot could be about to go on a shopping spree in Italy, with Conceicao, Thuram, and now 25-year-old defender Pierre Kalulu on their list of targets from Turin.
Altogether, the trio could cost around the ballpark of £104m, with Kalulu coming in as the cheapest purchase of them all, at the low £9.5m region.
The outlet is even reporting that English clubs have made enquiries about trying to snap up the Frenchman, with Manchester United noted as being interested in securing a deal for the Lyon-born centre-back previously.
With Ibrahima Konate’s short-term future still not resolved at Anfield, adding in Kalulu might well prove to be a smart call, with the number 15 standing out as an impressive performer for Juventus this season.
Would Kalulu be a good fit?
Only missing one Serie A game all season long due to suspension, Kalulu is almost guaranteed at this point to be on Luciano Spalletti’s teamsheet.
Indeed, with two goals and four assists next to his name in league action, the number 15 has managed to stick out as an expressive individual in the backline. Capable of playing as a right-back and right midfielder, as well, he would tick a lot of boxes for Slot, as another versatile star is possibly added to his ranks.
With four aerial duels won during his last Juventus match before the international break versus Sassuolo, too, the three-time France international should be able to slot straight into matches in the Premier League and excel.
Juventus will surely put up a fight to keep Kalulu, alongside other targets on the Reds’ extensive shopping list, but if they can win the 25-year-old on such a cheap deal, it would stick out as a clever deal, when Liverpool has been so used to splashing the cash excessively.
