Liverpool’s dramatic win over La Liga champions Barcelona saw them reach the final of the Champions League, however, a condition in Phillipe Coutinho’s contract means they will now miss out on nearly £5 million.
Jurgen Klopp and his men managed to come back from a 3-0 loss in the second leg of their Champions League clash against the Spanish giants, scoring four goals in one of the greatest sporting comebacks in recent history.
What was more impressive is that the Reds managed it with the absence of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, instead back-up striker Divock Origi scored two goals while midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum scored the other two.

Coutinho was substituted in the 60th minute after failing to make an impact in his first return to Anfield since leaving; this echoes his time at Barcelona, only scoring 21 goals in 74 games.
The Brazilian forward made the swap from Anfield to the Nou Camp last year, and in his contract, it stated that should Barca win the Champions League this year Liverpool would receive an extra €5.23 million, according to the Mirror.
This adds to the staggering £105 million (£142 million with add-ons) that Liverpool received initially for the player.
However, it is Liverpool who have completed the journey to Madrid and they will face another English club, Tottenham Hotspur, who astonishingly came back against Ajax after losing 1-0 at home in the first leg.

Lucas Moura completed a stunning hat-trick to push the Lilywhites into the final after Ajax had scored two goals early on.
With the final taking place on 1 June, the two clubs have some big preparations to make if they are to bring home the Champions League trophy.
