Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has vowed to stay at Anfield next season and improve, Pete Oliver of the Daily Express reports.
Italian power-house Balotelli has found his first season on Merseyside difficult and has struggled to cement a place in the eleven where he can play his best football. He has even struggled to make the bench purely by just not being selected by manager Brendan Rodgers.
But the frontman’s agent, Mino Raiola, has said that the 24 year old will remain at Liverpool and help to rebuild with the rest of the squad.
“We had talks with Liverpool and he will definitely stay.” said Raiola.
“I have spoken at various times to the club and they were happy with his input and professionalism. Obviously we have to improve the performance but I am really confident that will happen this year.“
It somewhat throws a spanner in the works as Balotelli, along with fellow strikers Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert, were expected to leave this summer as the Reds target Christian Benteke and Danny Ings.
The Liverpool forward made only 10 domestic league starts this year and his only Premier League goal came in the 3-2 win at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
