Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has predicted a close-fought encounter between the Reds and Leeds United on Sunday afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s side come into the clash unbeaten in the opening three Premier League matches following two wins and a draw before the international break.
Meanwhile, Marcelo Bielsa’s men have had an indifferent start to their second season in the top-flight, picking up two points from an opening round of fixtures.
Writing for his weekly predictions for BBC Sport, Lawrenson has just about given Liverpool the edge.
Leeds have stuttered a little bit so far this season, but I think that’s all it is. I don’t see them struggling, put it that way. There are still lots of positives about the way Marcelo Bielsa’s side play, but they are still easy to get at which is something I thought they would change. That hasn’t happened, which is why I am going with Liverpool. The Reds will get plenty of opportunities in front of goal.
The 64-year-old went for a 2-1 scoreline in favour of the Reds, following a 4-3 Anfield success last term and a 1-1 draw at Elland Road in the reverse fixture.
Liverpool have been handed a late selection boost as FIFA and Brazilian authorities stepped down from their stance on Alisson Becker and Fabinho.

Both stars will now be available to Klopp tomorrow, as will Raphinha to Bielsa.

It’s hard to find fault with Lawrenson’s assessment of the upcoming meeting.
Leeds are a high-energy, sometimes frantic side to face and will be a difficult prospect especially roared on by a home crowd.
From a Liverpool perspective, it’s important to match their opponents every step of the way, whilst also remembering to produce moments of control and quality in order to prevail.
