Marko Grujic ruled out until New Year with major ankle injury

It was just days ago when Marko Grujic was being praised by Hertha Berlin manager Pal Dardai, who called him the best midfielder the club have had in 22 years.

However, the Serbian will now be out of action until after the Bundesliga winter break after he damaged ligaments in his left ankle in training.

As reported by James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, Grujic hurt his ankle after a challenge with teammate Vladimir Darida during a session on Tuesday, and as such, he will now be out of action until 2019.

Grujic has been in great form for the Bundesliga side but he’ll now miss the upcoming games against Stuttgart, Augsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, and will work hard to try to get fit over the winter break.

The German season will get back underway on January 20th and the Serbian will be hoping to be fit and ready to show his qualities once again.
