Simon Mignolet has been included in Belgium’s provisional squad for the World Cup
The 30-year-old is expected to make the cut but be second choice goalkeeper behind Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.

Mignolet’s chances suffered a setback when he lost the number one spot at Anfield to Loris Karius, but he still started 19 Premier League games this season.
The other goalkeepers in the squad are Newcastle’s Mats Selz who spent the season on loan at Anderlecht, and Wolfsburg’s Koen Casteels.
Reds forward Divock Origi missed out on the squad, he spent the season on loan with Casteels’ side, scoring six goals.

That was not enough to impress Belgium manager Roberto Martinez as he preferred out-of-form Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke and Michy Batshuayi to join Romelu Lukaku in the squad.
Chelsea and Tottenham each have three players in the side, while Radja Nainggolan was surprisingly left out. Issues between him and Martinez appear to have scuppered his chances despite the manager insisting it was a tactical decision.
