Takumi Minamino will wear the number 18 shirt for Liverpool, having completed his move to Anfield on Thursday.
The 24-year-old will become a Reds player on January 1st, with his debut planned for the visit of Everton on January 5th, in the FA Cup third round.
Minamino should be an exciting addition at Anfield, but whose footsteps is he following in when it comes to wearing the No.18 jersey?
Perhaps the most obvious occupier of the shirt was Dirk Kuyt, who became a hugely popular figure during his six-year stay at Liverpool between 2006 and 2012.
The Dutchman’s big-game mentality saw him score numerous important goals and his work-rate was infectious.
Michael Owen also wore No.18 for a brief period, while other incumbents include Alberto Moreno, Antonio Nunez, Dirk Kuyt, Erik Meijer, Jean Michel Ferri, John Arne Riise, Phil Charnock and Ronny Rosenthal.
The hope is that Minamino eclipses all of those names mentioned above, excelling for the Reds for many years to come.
