Naby Keita to miss Liverpool training due to sore neck

Liverpool have announced, via the club’s official website, that midfielder Naby Keita will sit out of the club’s next few training sessions as he has a sore neck, which he picked up by sleeping awkwardly on the flight from Charlotte to New York.

Keita, who missed the 2-1 victory over Manchester City with the neck issue, has not been ruled out of the game against Manchester United in Ann Abor this weekend but he looks unlikely to feature if he does not train between now and Saturday’s game.

The Guinean, who joined Liverpool this summer after agreeing to make the move in 2017, has put in some impressive pre-season displays and he’ll be disappointed not to be training and playing with his new teammates as he looks to get ready for the new season.

The 23-year-old will hope to take part in the game against United in Michigan but if he does not feature, he’ll have a chance to prove his fitness in the build-up to the game with Napoli in Dublin on Saturday, August 4th.
