Liverpool’s £7.2m youngster set to stay at club despite rumours over possible departure

Despite being linked with a move away, it appears as though Liverpool youngster Neco Williams is here to stay.

The Welsh youngster made some integral performances last season when called upon amidst injuries.

With that comes plenty of interest from other clubs, with Neco attracting plenty.

However, despite the initial idea of sending him out on loan for more game time, the 20-year-old will stay put.

As reported by The Athletic’s Caoimhe O’Neill, via Anfield Watch, Williams will remain at the club this season…

This year the depth of the squad will no doubt be hugely important.

Last campaign saw Trent Alexander-Arnold out for a little while with an injury which saw Williams given his chance.

The youngster put up some great performances and earned plenty of praise from the manager and the fans.

It is clear that his importance is still justified, with the club keen to retain Williams for this upcoming season.

The Reds will need every player they have, with them hoping to contend for the title again this campaign.

If another blight of injuries does occur, it is important to have quality in depth.

Hopefully, Neco will provide that in defence with him also featuring at right-midfield at times for the club.
