Neuer could be a doubt for Liverpool Champions League clash

Liverpool could be handed a huge boost in their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, with Manuel Neuer potentially an injury doubt.

The German star was left out of Bayern’s squad to face Hertha Berlin last night, and there are big concerns over the goalkeeper’s fitness ahead of the crucial tie according to the Liverpool Echo.

Neuer has been in training but was shown with a splint on his finger, potentially casting doubt on his availability for the matchup with the Reds.

This could hand a big boost to Jurgen Klopp’s side, who will face a huge test if they want to go one better than last year and win the UEFA Champions League.

Klopp will also be looking for revenge against Bayern, especially after losing against the Bavarian giants at Wembley with Borussia Dortmund.

Niko Kovac, when asked about the return date for Neuer after Bayern’s defeat to Leverkusen, told reporters that:

I can not say exactly. When I say it will be five months, there is a big fuss, and if I say it will be five days, everyone thinks it’s not that bad. The fact is, he was in pain. Otherwise, he would have played.
