Reputable Dutch outlet AD have claimed that new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman wants to take Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum to the Camp Nou.
Wijnaldum is said to be very high on Koeman’s wish list as he looks to rebuild his squad at the Catalan giants and he knows the player very well as the duo have worked together for the past two years for the Dutch national side.
The Liverpool midfielder took to Twitter to congratulate his former national team boss on his appointment as Barcelona manager, where Koeman enjoyed a stellar playing career.
Now it seems the former Everton manager is keen on rekindling their friendship in Spain as he looks to resurrect a battered and bruised Barcelona.

It has been widely publicised that Wijnaldum has entered the last year of his contract with the Premier League champions and talks over a new deal have apparently not begun leading to questions over the future of the 29-year-old.
The rumoured arrival of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich has only further fuelled the prospect of Wijnaldum departing the club; the two share the same position and many of the same attributes.
Although Wijnaldum has been an integral part of Liverpool’s successes in the last 18 months, never more so than the two goals against potential new employers Barcelona in last year’s Champions League semi-finals, if he doesn’t sign a new deal then The Reds may have no choice but to cash in this summer rather than lose him for free next year.
