No ‘giant leap forward’ in Sadio Mane recovery

Sadio Mane’s inclusion in the Senegal squad does not indicate a “giant leap forward” his recovery, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds were dealt an untimely blow when it emerged that Mane had picked up the serious injury on international duty.

Initially, it was thought that he would be out for six weeks, but recently developments have encouraged fans he may yet return ahead of schedule.

The 25-year-old has been called up by his national team for a World Cup qualifying clash with South Africa on 10th November.

It has even been suggested that he could resume full training as early as next week.

However, it is understood that while Mane is considered a ‘quick healer’, the early projections of a six-week lay-off remain accurate.

With Senegal attempting to secure qualification, it is no surprise that they have called up their injured talisman. Liverpool are relaxed about the situation.

Nonetheless, the Anfield faithful will be hankering for the return of their star man, who has already scored three league goals this season.
