Ojo set for Wolves loan

Just hours after scoring his first senior goal for the club against Swindon Town, Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo is set to embark on his second loan spell of his career, joining Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.

According to Adrian Kajumba of the Mirror, a deal has been agreed between the two clubs for a season-long loan.

The 18-year-old, who also spent part of last season at Wigan Athletic, looks set to join Wolves manager Kenny Jackett in the Midlands to gain valuable first-team experience once again.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has judged that his current first-team squad has sufficient options to allow the young winger, who made 11 first team appearances in the Championship last season, to emulate Jordon Ibe and command a starting role at a second tier club.

Ibe, who is also a winger, developed on loan at Birmingham City and Derby County before featuring for Rodgers’ side.

Jackett’s Wolves will be hoping to gain promotion to the Premier League, after narrowly missing out on the play-off spots last year in what was a highly competitive Championship season.
